Rails spinoffs - Jul 2008 - Avoid the spam! Use the new Prototype & script.aculo.us group!

Hi all,

It''s like the spammers know we''re leaving and are doing their
best to
get it all in before we go.  Yeesh!

Just a reminder[1][2], don''t post new threads in this group, use the
replacement group:

Why?  The new group has moderation enabled for new users (it also has
a more appropriate name, active management, etc.).  Only messages from
new members require pre-approval; once you''re established your
messages don''t need to be approved before they appear.  (Please be
patient with your first message or two.)  Hopefully these measures
will mean virtually no spam gets through, and any that does will at
least get deleted from the web interface and archives fairly quickly.

Thanks for relentlessly pushing this through!  Most programmer types seem to
be heavy on "Woohoo, let''s do it!" and light on actually
doing it
themselves. :-)

Thanks Fred!  My pleasure, and it''s not just me.  Several people are
"showing up" and making it work -- moderating, setting up the group
colors to mesh well with the prototypejs.org site, etc., etc.
