Hi list, Well, the subject says it all basically. I want to know if I an upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 would break anything (assuming it was coded properly ;)) or have there been changes that require a programmer to make updates to his scripts? I''m not sure, but I think that getElementsByClassName has been replaced by $$, right? Anything else I should be aware of? Problem is, I have quite a lot of little bits of script that depend on Prototype 1.5, and if I upgrade I don''t want to have to go through it all to upgrade my code as well. Of course, I''ll still need to test everything :). Most of the deprecated stuff is still there, but it''s advisable you change your code whenever you can, as future versions of Prototype will stop supporting it :) -- IIRC getElementsByClassName is still around. The only thing that "broke" from 1.5 to 1.6 is Hashes. So if you''re using Hashes ($H) you might have to be careful :) Read about the changes here: http://prototypejs.org/api/hash Best, -Nicolas On Jan 9, 2008 12:46 PM, Ron Derksen <chevalric-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > Hi list, > > Well, the subject says it all basically. Quite significantly and for the better. Much much better. -- ----- Richard Quadling Zend Certified Engineer : http://zend.com/zce.php?c=ZEND002498&r=213474731 "Standing on the shoulders of some very clever giants!" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group.
