Rails spinoffs - Jan 2008 - Newbie question

Hi everyone,

I am new to the Ajax and Jscript world and I am learning as I go. I
was wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction for what I
am trying to do.

I am looking for a validation control that acts like a tooltip. What I
mean by that, it pops up (i would prefer it to drop down to the part
of the screen I am currently on) in a panel displaying the error
message. As the user continues to enter info in the form that error
tooltip will add more error messages as they occur with the option for
the user to click on the error and be redirected to that input
control.

I know my question is very vague but I was wondering if anyone has
seen a plugin like that or some general guidelines of how to approach
making designing it on my own.

I would look at LiveValidation.com

It uses prototype. Though not exactly what you want, it may provide  
some help, and is sooooo easy to use!
