Rails spinoffs - Jan 2008 - AutoCompleter Arrow key's don't work in IE

After upgrading to latest prototype and scriptaculous versions, 1.6
and 1.8, the AutoCompleter no longer works with scrolling through the
returned items via the arrow keys.  Of course this works in FF but
most of the users of this app are using IE.

I have seen other postings that describe this problem, but haven''t
seen a fix or much of an acknowledgment of the issue.  Are there any
plans to fix this bug in the works?
