Are you sure that line is your problem? It appears as you wrote it 3
times (lines 35, 45, 218 of position.js) with a handful of similar
variants. Based on a quick visual inspection of the code (not the
most reliable debugging mechanism, to be sure) the null case appears
to be appropriately handled.
