Hi everyone, I just started poking through the javascript_test plugin (very nice). What I''m wondering though, is if it can test javascript returned from actions or is it limited to static .js files. I can''t find anything from the docs that would indicate it could, nor could I find anything in the code. It seems like this would be a good feature in general, especially among the Web 2.0ers. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Andrew --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group. Hey Andrew, AndrewO a écrit :> I just started poking through the javascript_test plugin (very nice). > What I''m wondering though, is if it can test javascript returned from > actions or is it limited to static .js files.Take a look at assert_rjs. Since RJS is the preferred way of returning JS from the app side, I assume that''ll help you out :-) It''s brought to you by the RJS Assertions Plugin. You''ll find a link to it from yet another RJS test system called ARTS, which is introduced here: http://www.rojo.com/story/SqJlWgM5Q0OowNyu ''HTH -- Christophe Porteneuve a.k.a. Hi Christophe, Well, I''m using a 3rd party javascript API in my application, so I don''t think RJS is the right fit for me. My actions are returning data rather than manipulating the presentation of the page, which as I understand it, is where RJS excels. Also, I''ve been learning Prototype (and Scriptaculous) and make heavy use of them to talk to the API, so I''d like to keep as much of the client-side stuff in javascript. Maybe I should take a closer look at JSON... Thanks for the pointer though. If I get around to using RJS I''ll take a look at that.
