NEED help: My group are working on rails IDE and we''re in the wizard part now and we''re trying to generate the Rails skeleton and we looked in the rubygems and found in gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.2.2/lib/rails_generator/generators/applications/ app/app_generator.rb what does it do, does it generates rails skeleton? are there any other scripts we need to execute as well? plz email me at hisham86@aucegypt.edu --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Core" group. 1. This list is for core implementation issues. See rubyonrails-talk.2. If you have to ask this question, it''s bafflingly hilarious that you are creating a Rails IDE. 3. Might want to run a gem update. 1- oh sorry I thought I''d ask here as people here are the closest to the Rails implementation. 2- umm why is it "bafflingly" hilarious that we''re creating a rails IDE? 3- can you elaborate on this? Gabe is just being a troll here, but I believe that he was "baffled" by the fact that your team is building an IDE for a framework that you don''t even know well. I mean, re-using the app generator is a trivial issue, and you''re already stuck on that. Also, you won''t get any help on this list because most of the true Rails gurus laugh at the face of any IDE. 3- can you elaborate on this? He was just telling you that you are not on the latest version of the framework, which is really of no importance to your problem. Having said all this, I hope you will move the discussion elsewhere. This list is for discussions regarding development of the framework, not development of your IDE. thx so much for your help although its not the right place. But what if I have any question about rails, where can I ask? can I ask you specific question when we''re stuck? Is there a right path I can take so not to ask trivial question where they are already answered somewhere? Well I have to get started sometime :) so we''re trying. Comon encourage me :D thx though for the good luck I am curious why would they laugh at IDEs? Do you think all IDE''s are useless? Thx again... You would just piss off people and they may not even reply to you in rubyonrails-talk list if you do that. Your target audience is very likely to be found in rubyonrails-talk list and may be even #rubyonrails - irc.freenode.net So please let''s stop it here. -- Cheers! - Pratik http://m.onkey.org --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Core" group.
