At the risk of being flamed into oblivion... Is there any idea yet of when 2.0 might enter the release candidate phase? There are many new features and fixes on edge since 1.2 that would be nice to get in a stable release. Of course I''m not asking for a hard 2.0 release date... but insight into the core''s current thinking about 2.0 would be really appreciated. (David outlined new features in 2.0 at RailsConf back in May, so are we thinking summer? fall? etc.) Thanks! It seems that the answer about 2.0 is "when it is ready" but I agree that fixes release rolled out anytime soon is a good idea. Say, 1.2.4. We have backported a number of those fixes to the 1-2-stable branch, however not all of them have made it across.> Of course I''m not asking for a hard 2.0 release date... but insight > into the core''s current thinking about 2.0 would be really > appreciated. (David outlined new features in 2.0 at RailsConf back in > May, so are we thinking summer? fall? etc.)There''s not a large amount of functionality left to implement. Hopefully we''ll be able to publish a ''todo'' list of sorts in the coming weeks, outlining the functionality that we think is still missing from edge rails. Then based on that, and community feedback, we should have a better feel for the arrival of 2.0. The best way to help 2.0 come sooner, is to try your current applications with Edge rails, and let us know if what breaks.> Thanks! > Jeff > > > > >-- Cheers Koz --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Core" group. Seeing a to-do list, even if the items aren''t very specific, helps people know that things really are going on behind the scenes. It will also motivate people to get involved and help "cross things off the list". Like at the end of a long race, turning the corner, and now seeing the rope across finish line somehow motivates you to run a little faster than before :-) Thanks again.
