Hey guys, What are people''s plans for rubyconf? I''m considering coming along, but a trip from New Zealand will involve at least 12 hours of long-haul flights in each direction. It''d be worth it for some ''networking'' and rails chatting though. -- Cheers Koz

I''m in fact "committed" to going and am quite sure, baring some fantastic catastrophe, that I will be there. marcel -- Marcel Molina Jr. <marcel@vernix.org>

I think RubyConf and OSCON will be far more interesting, ruby-wise, I''m not at all familiar with OOPSLA. -Scott -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... What I''m after is a chance to catch up with the talented rails hackers, but also get a feel for how the rails ''buzz'' is translating into real interest & opportunities. As fun as java is (not at all really), I''m looking to move into full time rails work, and conferences seem like a good way to get a feel for what''s going on.> -Scott > > > _______________________________________________ > Rails-core mailing list > Rails-core@lists.rubyonrails.org > http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails-core > > > >-- Cheers Koz

It will probably come down to the financial situation in the summer. I''m starting to write a thesis on open source business models and networks so attending these conferences I would kill two birds with one stone (the other being what''s already been mentioned in this thread). //jarkko> > > > >> -Scott >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Rails-core mailing list >> Rails-core@lists.rubyonrails.org >> http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails-core >> >> >> >> > > > -- > Cheers > > Koz > _______________________________________________ > Rails-core mailing list > Rails-core@lists.rubyonrails.org > http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails-core >-- Jarkko Laine http://jlaine.net http://odesign.fi -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... RubyConf might even feature an entire afternoon dedicated to Rails. That would be very cool for networking. OSCON might feature more external leads, though. Where RubyConf is mainly rubyists. Though, if I had to choose, I''d probably pick RubyConf. -- David Heinemeier Hansson http://www.loudthinking.com -- Broadcasting Brain http://www.basecamphq.com -- Online project management http://www.rubyonrails.com -- Web-application framework
