*Biostatistician Department of Oncology, University of Oxford * Grade 7: ?29,541 - ?36,298 p.a. An opportunity is available for a Biostatistician to join the Bioinformatics Core within the Department of Oncology. You will provide biostatistical expertise to the Core and contribute to the design of studies, the analysis of data and the development of new analytical methods. This position will involve various aspects of statistics from biostatistics and statistical genetics to the integration of *omics data, under the supervision of senior members of the Bioinformatics Core: Dr Jean-Baptiste Cazier, Group Leader, and Francesca Buffa, Clinical Genomics Lead. It includes provision of design and analysis as well as development of novel statistical approaches to solve problems specific to the Department of Oncology. You will have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Statistical Genetics or similar subject, as well as experience in bioinformatics aspects of high-throughput sequencing or proteomics technologies. You will also have a working knowledge of statistical software packages such as R/BioConductor and scripting skills in languages such as Python or Awk. This is a full-time post and is available until 31 March 2017 in the first instance.
