R SIG Debian - Feb 2012 - help.start() not working

I have notice today that my "help.start()" in the R- enviroment does
not work. It give me the following message:
Error in readRDS(file) : error reading from connection
I would appreciate any help on that. Im using Ubuntu oreinic 11.10

It could be an issue with your default browser.  What happens when you type

xdg-open http://www.google.com

In the command line.  On my machine, a new tab opens up in Firefox with 
google.  Do you get something similar?
