Dear all, Sandy Weisberg, Michael Friendly, and I would like to announce a new version of the effects package, 3.0-0, now on CRAN; the new version should shortly percolate through the various CRAN mirrors. The major enhancement in this version of effects is the ability to plot partial residuals and smoothed partial residuals in effect displays for linear and generalized linear models, generalizing component-plus-residual plots. This new feature provides a visualization of the data against fitted terms in the model (or combinations of predictors) of arbitrary dimension and complexity. See the documentation for the partial.residuals argument in ?Effect and ?plot.eff. As always, suggestions and reports of problems are appreciated.
