[R] F or Chi^2 test in GAM and other nonparametric model
Hi, I believe that this is not a right place to post this question. However, I am using R and found that I am able to got many valuable hints. Therefore, I would ask: Does any one have the references of selecting significant level (alpha) for F or Chi^2-test in GAM and other nonparametric model. Some have suggested to use alpha=0.10 rather than conventional 0.05. I'd like to see what are the rationals and theories of this suggestion. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
