> Is there a way to open a file by browsing (instead of writing filename > and path).if you want to load a data-file into a data.frame you could do: data <- read.table( file.choose(), sep=","); of course, this reuqires you to know your file-format. in the above example you had a comma-delimited ascii-file. there is no function which can be used for data-import without knowing the fileformat and no "spss-like" import-function.
