It does, at least for a while. But when various more or less well behaved programs enter the scene (harddisk) things changed, at least for me. Reinstallation of R or windows didn't help, and I did not want to start again from scratch with a reformat. I used rw0613. -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Douglas Steele <Douglas at dsteele.demon.co.uk> Til: r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch <r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch> Dato: 27. september 1998 23:32 Emne: R-beta: windows and dynload. ?Win98>In article <Pine.GSO.3.96.980917063426.11242A-100000 at localhost>, Prof >Brian D Ripley <ripley at stats.ox.ac.uk> writes >>> Error in dyn.load(file) : unable to load shared library >>> "D:\R_CODA\RW0613\library\eda\libs\eda.dll" >>This happens on certain Windows 95 machines (at least); Guido Masarotto and >>I traced it to machines running Windows 95a (that is the original W95 with >>service pack 1); machines running Windows 95b or c (OSR2 and OSR2.5) are >>able to dyn.load. I used rw0613.Andrea Rossetti reported to me that the executable in rw0623b "can dyn.load" on a Win98 machine in which rw0613 had problems. So, his experience with Win98 is the same reported by Brian Ripley with Win95a. I will have a Win98 machine +/- during next week. So, I will be able to test directly. But, in the meantime, if you have time, I will suggest to upgrade to rw0623. guido -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
