Steps to reproduce the bug:

Define the function

  my.mean = function(x,y) (x+y)/2

then type "my.m" in the interactive shell and press TAB.
"my.mean(" appears at
the input prompt, but the status bar displays synopsis for mean() rather than
my.mean().
