Well, in my case it's a way to "sell the R" to clients, it's
means they
don't know R, so I create a "standalone" program using R. After
some
time I convince them to use a "client/server" version using linux, and
in the end it's constructed a cluster of servers and desktop in linux
;). I tried the RDCom ("hey, what are you doing with my Windows?") ,
Java ("What is this? A tiny program using 15Mb to 20Mb!") or
C++("Don't
you think it's too expensive for a small program?") and they don't
liked :(
So, Hans, your job is coming in a great help, thanks.
