See the rw-FAQ, question 2.14. Your example is fine on my XP machine.
This is a sign of a corrupt version of Windows, not an R problem.
If you must persist in filing reports on known problems, at least supply
new evidence. The rw-FAQ shows you have to produce a useful post-mortem
dump.
