Compiled and installed this on OS X, using lam-6.5.5, but the usual
glitch:

/usr/local/lib/R/bin/R.bin -L/sw/lib -o Rmpi.so Rmpi.o conversion.o
internal.o -L/usr/local/lam-6.5.5/lib -lmpi -llam
/usr/bin/ld: multiple definitions of symbol _do_args
/usr/local/lib/R/bin/R.bin definition of _do_args
/usr/local/lam-6.5.5/lib/liblam.a(do_args.o) definition of _do_args in
section (__TEXT,__text)
By linking Rmpi.so manually with the -m flag we circumvent this.
