it's not on purpose; it is a bug that has been fixed even in 0.65.0
Btw, print(.) itself adds a new line;
but then, why use print() at all? it is *the default function*
{ as long as the object hasn't been invisible()ized },
i.e.
date()
should be what you want (once you use 0.65.0 or newer..)
