I have been told (by R) to report an error.
Running the attached file simul-pic.R produces the
somthing like the following

The program should generate a pictex file, but it fails
to complete it. Replicated executions produce slightly
different outcomes, but still an error.
If I comment out the lines following the PicTeX line,
then the program runs with no error.
The environment is WinNT 4.0 with R Version 0.63.2 Beta
(Jan 12, 1999).
I have first contacted Guido Masarotto about this problem,
but the same thing occurs on the Unix version of R, and
he suggested to write to your address.
