It also seems that pictex() is broken. I've only taken a quick look,
but I think the reason is that
.Internal(device("pictex", as.character(c(file)), c(width,
height, debug, bg, fg)))
should have bg and fg with the character args, and the driver code needs
to be updated accordingly ...
