[qemu-discuss] Hosting an OpenSolaris guest (Solaris Express) on a Linux box
Does anyone around knows if this would be possible, with a qemu 0.8.2 ? I''m trying to debug an apps with strange fonts in CDE, and I''d be glad to be able to do this from my main Linux machine (the apps is an OpenGL one and for some reason (see another post in the X11 session) it does not work in remote). Thanks, Benjamin. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

It looks like 0.8.3 will be released any (minute|hour|day) now (at least according to the current CVS change log). However, when you boot your Solaris express, you''ll need to do the following: at the grub menu, type "e" to edit the command line. at the -B install-media=cdrom (or whatever the exact line is) add ",atapi-cd-dma-enabled=0" to the parameter list after the "-B <arg>" and then type <return> and then b to boot. you should get a valid install from there.
