Puppet users - Jul 2013 - Puppet kick exists with 0 even when puppet run has failures

Hello,

when applying this patch to my 
/usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/puppet/application/kick.rb  file:
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/6255


I get this error message:

 *undefined method `logs'' for nil:NilClass*

anyone knows what am i missing??
