Re: [Puppet Users] Managing puppet as Application software management
Hi, From the minimal information you have provided I can''t really tell what you need. I am going to guess you have looked at the package resource and it doesn''t do what you need. I this isn''t the case have a look at the docs for it here -> http://docs.puppetlabs.com/references/latest/type.html#package Basically that will let you install a package on a system using the tools provided by the operating system. If you are trying to install something else that doesn''t come as a package you will have to write a class or a define to do it. Alternatively have a look at the puppet forge here -> http://forge.puppetlabs.com/ Someone may have written something already to help manage what you need. If that is a bit over your head have a look at this page for a very good introduction to how to do things with puppet. http://docs.puppetlabs.com/learning Hope that helps. I doubt many people here used or even read about opsware. So it would be a good point to describe what do you really want? What does ''like opsware'' behaviour represent? -- Jakov Sosic www.srce.unizg.hr -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group.
