[Puppet Users] How to create local puppet forge repositories
Hi, was just wondering if there''s a way to create a local forge repositories to host our local modules? Has anyone done that? I found this post, http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5033. that was one year ago. Wondering if there''s a way to do it now? Are you interested in hosting your own modules on the Forge for use in the Puppet Module Tool but don''t want your modules to be publicly accessible? Any other requirements would be useful to hear about too. Thanks! --Ryan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Re: [Puppet Users] How to create local puppet forge repositories
In our case, we need a local puppet repository for two reasons: 1- to host our own puppet modules, which should not be publicly accessible 2- to have our own local copy of all public puppet modules that we use (so that we do not rely on you; if your servers go down, our company should still be able to run...) very much as nexus for maven repository: http://www.sonatype.org/nexus/ Regards, David On Monday, June 18, 2012 10:07:47 PM UTC+2, Ryan Coleman wrote:> > On Mon, Jun 18, 2012 at 12:01 PM, Lian Zhu <leann...@gmail.com<javascript:>> > wrote: > > Hi, was just wondering if there''s a way to create a local forge > repositories > > to host our local modules? Re: [Puppet Users] How to create local puppet forge repositories
Having a local forge available would be great. Some customers do not like to run un-audited code - they do most modules by themselves anyway. At the moment we use a CI build chain to create OS packages for our modules. But for dev’s a local forge would be a good opportunity for sharing modules and knowledge and to prevent double work.
