I would assume that the package maintainer moved the default directory location. Try this: puppetmaster --genconfig | grep "libdir =" On Sep 2, 2010, at 8:37 AM, kid17 wrote:> just installed puppet-server using yum. > > but when i ran /etc/init.d/puppetmaster start, file directory /var/lib/ > puppet is empty. > > how come it''s empty as compared to installing from source? > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. > To post to this group, send email to puppet-users@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to puppet-users+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/puppet-users?hl=en. >-- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. I''m not sure if there are any other yum using distros out there. But if the OP meant one of those two, then /var/lib/puppet is the default $vardir. There''s just nothing installed there by the packages.
