[Puppet Users] Wiki: Syntax woes? Page preview on non-edited page -> big mess :)
Greetings, I am new to the Redmine Wiki which powers the Puppet Wiki. I wanted to fix a link in the Downloading Puppet -> Solaris section [1], but when I try to edit the page, the shown page source / markup doesn''t match with what is listed as valid markup in the editing help [2]. Headings use only ''#''s, lists use dashes instead of stars, etc. Furthermore, hitting preview (without any changes from my side) shows a page that looks quite different from the current page. Content is the same, just the layout is messed up. For instance, indented item lists end up as strike-throughs and headings as numbered items (all starting with 1.). Is this a known issue? I checked the Wiki''s main page and the mailing list archives, but only found some threads regarding last year''s Wiki move, nothing in particular pointing to such a problem. We''ve used Markdown to power the Wiki and some of the integration of Markdown into Redmine isn''t perfect. I''m working to fix it the issues in the next little while. Ignore the preview for example - it''s broken and tries to convert Markdown into something else and on my TODO list. In terms of Markdown format - ### and dashes and stars are all acceptable header and list formats. So different people will use different ways of doing H1, H2, H3 etc. Have a look at: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/ for a more complete syntax. Worked flawlessly. Is there any macro to create a table of contents (and thereby some structure) for longish pages like the following? http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Puppet_Solaris Sebastian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Currently the {toc} macro in Redmine in core is weird and needs to be abstracted into a separate function.
