The Senior UNIX Engineer will work out of our Columbus Office
supporting our extensive SaaS environment and our UNIX customers
nationwide. This individual will be designing, configuring,
administering, and troubleshooting complex Solaris environments. This
position will also work with Linux, AIX, and Windows based
environments, implementing and troubleshooting multi-tier software
applications, working with complex enterprise database systems, and
implementing and troubleshooting network and security environments.
This position is responsible for:
Complete Solaris patching, zoning, packaging, and integration
assignments within the environment
Develop complex Unix scripts
Develop centralized management, monitoring, and roll-out scripts
Work within the ISO 27001 security governess model in implementing and
securing Solaris environments
Administer multi-site Linux/UNIX and Windows based environments
Work with complex database systems such as Intersystems Cache and SQL Server
Work with complex network and storage environments including SAN,
clustering, load balancing multi-site VPNs, network IDS, and firewalls
Supporting and maintaining both our client and hosted application
server environments
Designing implementing, and troubleshooting multi-tier software services
Providing technical support for client issues
Job Requirements:
Successful Candidates will possess:
4+ years working with Sun Solaris, including extensive enterprise
management experience, scripting and packaging
2+ years working with Linux and/or AIX UNIX environments
1+ years working with Enterprise Database Systems
Experience implementing and troubleshooting both Wide-Area Networks
and Local-Area Networks
Understanding of network security such as firewall, VPN and IDS.
In-depth knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and
procedures -- relies on knowledge, experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of both
communicating with IT team members as well as to other staff members
Ability to take imitative & manage multiple detailed tasks in a
fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Excellent organizational, project management abilities, strong
analytical and problem solving skills.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
