[Puppet Users] puppetd 0.24.7-r1 has lots of close_wait connections
Hi folks I know that has, to some degree, been run over the past year in different ways, but, I may have yet another instance of an issue on this. The puppetmaster system and the puppet system are both running 0.24.7-r1, on a gentoo system. Other puppet systems are running 0.24.4. The puppet system (not the puppetmaster system) that is running 0.24.7-r1 is showing multiple close_wait connections. The others are not. File changes are not affected; nothing appears to be stopping puppet from working, it is just that the 0.24.7-r1 client appears to be leaving connections unclosed. As other folks have noted, they don''t continually accumulate - they just appear (in my case, as soon as I have started puppetd), and then puppet seems to run its catalog with no errors, updating files and all that fun stuff. Just disturbing to see all the unclosed connections on the client, to see them immediately disappear on stopping puppetd, and to see them immediately re-appear as soon as puppetd is started again. I think I can upgrade to 0.24.8-r1, but, am hesitant to do that if it doesn''t fix the issue, or if it introduces all new issues. Any advice will be most appreciated.
