[Puppet Users] Looking for Volunteers to tell Puppet Stories
Deadline: 6:00 PM EASTERN - December 23 You can read what the journalist is looking for. If you are interested, let me know. Query: "For the blogs at VoIP-News, IT Management and Daily Wireless, I am looking for stories about how technology has benefited your company in 2008. I am most interested in Wi-Fi, WiMAX, VoIP and IT management systems, but am open to other pitches, as long as they fall within the guidelines below. Here''s a few ideas of what I am looking for: - products/technologies that helped your company streamline a process or procedure - a technology that saved your company a lot of money, helping to keep the budget in line despite hard times - a communications service that made keeping track of employees easier or kept everyone more connected - other technological successes for your company I am NOT looking for the producers of these technologies to self-promote at this time. So, your company -- and you -- can''t be affiliated with the company that makes the product or service. PLEASE PUT HARO: TECH in the subject line." --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. [Puppet Users] Re: Looking for Volunteers to tell Puppet Stories
Andrew, Are you looking for stories to be sent to you or someone else? Is there some type of format or length that you need or are you going to "interview" people? Our Story: My company could not do what it does without Puppet - it is essential to our operation. KangarooBox sells and services computer server appliances worldwide. These appliances are installed on the customers premises and once they leave our offices we use Puppet to keep them running and updated with the latest software. Our customers don''t necessarily have an IT background nor should they, and they dont want to or cant keep a server running smoothly. Puppet allows us to easily update the existing software on each appliance. It also allows us to install new software to allow for new functionality and/or remove old software to keep the OS footprint small. We can do all of these things without ever touching the appliance and that is important when it might be across the country or even in another country. Later...
