If a have a file that has "notify" set for a particular service, will the service always be "restarted" when the file changes, or is there a way to specify that it should instead "reload"? I know I can use exec with "subscribe" and "refreshonly", but it seems like extra work if it could be included in notify. in your case you may want to define the service like so:
service {
"your_service":
ensure => running,
enable => true,
restart => "your restart command here,
subscribe => File["config file"];
}
