Hi all, We just finished another developer call, and the primary result of it was a plan for Puppet''s roadmap. I''ve summarized it on my blog[1], and I''ve updated the Roadmap[2] document on the wiki. It provides a timeline for releases through July, and a basic plan beyond that but not in much detail. Hopefully this will be enough of a start that we can continue to maintain this roadmap document, so everyone should have a clear idea of what to expect in a given release in terms of functionality, bug fixes, and backward compatibility. With this roadmap, we are able to create version numbers for the next few major releases, and the tickets attached to each version number will be the primary arbiter of what goes into a release, but having a theme for each release is critical. Please let me know if you have any questions, and please make sure you let me know if I let this document get out of date or if you find it insufficient. 1 - http://madstop.com/2008/10/29/building-a-puppet-roadmap/ 2 - http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/RoadMap -- Fallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions. --G.
