[Puppet Users] Problem with ticket #1147 and #1178: Inconsistent node names
Hello fellow puppeteers. I am having the same problems that are outlined in ticket #1178 (actually more like 1147 which was closed and referred to issues in 1178), where I can''t seem to use facter variables in my classes. Here''s an example of me trying to use notice to display the contents of $operatingsystem: notice: Scope(Class[puppet::getpup]): operatingsystem is . The ticket says it has been fixed and pushed to 0.24.x stable. I''m pretty sure that''s what I was running, but to be sure I tried reinstalling the from yum, from gems, and also from source I downloaded off of reductivelabs.com marked as 0.24.4 stable. Am I missing something, or should this just work? Or perhaps a better question, how do I get from old stable to new stable? Should I just be using "latest" instead of "stable"? - Thanks --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Do your hostnames differ from the names in the certificates? Are you using node_name=facter?> > Am I missing something, or should this just work? To use the latest inthe 0.24.x branch, just get it via get and install it with the install.rb. Of course, it''s the server that matters here, not the client. -- Life isn''t fair. This fix will be available in the next stable release of this branch - version 0.24.5. If you wish to test earlier please checkout the current HEAD branch. All is working there as far as I know.
