Puppet users - May 2008 - Puppet RPM's for AIX

If anyone needs them, I''ve created a few RPM''s for AIX 5.3 of
puppet,
ruby and facter.

http://www.phase2.net/puppet/puppet-0.24.4-22.aix5.3.noarch.rpm
http://www.phase2.net/puppet/puppet-server-0.24.4-22.aix5.3.noarch.rpm
http://www.phase2.net/puppet/facter-1.3.8-4.aix5.3.noarch.rpm
http://www.phase2.net/puppet/ruby-1.8.6-8.aix5.3.ppc.rpm

They install into our own site preferred directories, but you should
be able to use the --relocate option for specific directories. They
are no-arch packages, but because of aix''s older RPM version, it
insists on putting tacking the ''aix5.3'' into the filename, so
please
ignore.

Also, for the Ruby package, you have to install it via --nodeps.  It
depends on libssl being available but AIX now releases the openssl
libraries as a bff package now and that''s how we have them installed.
If you have the RPM versions installed instead, you may not need the --
nodeps flag.

Wasn''t sure if anyone would find these helpful or not but I figured
I''d post just in case.  If you want the spec file to build your own,
please let me know.

Souds great, I''m just looking at rolling out puppet in our Linux/AIX
environment and I''ll try your packages as soon as possible.

I think the OS level is supposed to be there even if it''s noarch;
... aix5.3.noarch ...
... aix5.3.ppc ...
... el5.i386 ...
... el5.noarch ...
