I changed one of my cron entries in puppet from:
cron { nightly_restart:
command => "/etc/init.d/something restart >&
/dev/null",
user => root,
minute => "0",
hour => "13",
monthday => "*",
month => "*",
weekday => "*",
}
to:
cron { nightly_restart:
command => "/etc/init.d/something restart >&
/dev/null",
user => root,
minute => "0",
hour => "7,18",
monthday => "*",
month => "*",
weekday => "*",
}
And I get this in the logs..
err: Could not create nightly_restart: Parameter hour failed: 7,18 is not a
valid hour at /etc/puppet/manifests/classes/something.pp:13
err: Parameter hour failed: 7,18 is not a valid hour at
/etc/puppet/manifests/classes/something.pp:13
Correct me if I am wrong but the man pages for cron say you can specify
commas or even hyphens for a range of time to make a cron run ie:
* 12 1-15,17,20-25 * * root cmd
* 12 10,12,14,16 * * root backup.sh
*/15 9-17 * * * root connection.test
Any ideas?
