[Pkg-xen-devel] Xen and Xen-related Packaging Issues
The first packaging issue is I feel PyGRUB really should be split off of xen-utils-<ver>. With PvGRUB being *much* better on x86, there doesn't seem to be that much need for PyGRUB. I'm also rather unsure of having xen-utils-<ver> do the recommendation of grub-xen-host (and with the above, xen-util-pygrub). Guess I need to map out the dependencies and figure out where those should be recommended from. I think the Xen team should formally ask the EDK team to package EDK2's OvmfPkg/OvmfXen.dsc and ArmVirtPkg/ArmVirtXen.dsc configurations. Tianocore can directly run on Xen and for certain setups those make far more sense than PyGRUB or PvGRUB. Case I'm thinking of is FreeBSD distributes ARM virtual machine images and these appear to assume EDK being used for boot. There might be a need for a "xen-bootloader" or "xen-boot" virtual packages. Trick is, should these be "xen-bootloader-<arch>" packages? -- (\___(\___(\______ --=> 8-) EHM <=-- ______/)___/)___/) \BS ( | ehem+sigmsg at m5p.com PGP 87145445 | ) / \_CS\ | _____ -O #include <stddisclaimer.h> O- _____ | / _/ 8A19\___\_|_/58D2 7E3D DDF4 7BA6 <-PGP-> 41D1 B375 37D0 8714\_|_/___/5445
