Hi team and fellow users, Yesterday, Ian Jackson stopped by at the Mendix office in Rotterdam, while being on the way to FOSDEM, and we spend a day working on the TODO list for Buster. The refreshed TODO list is at: https://salsa.debian.org/xen-team/debian-xen/issues/24 The main topic of the day seemed to start out being init scripts and systemd, but when diving into that subject, we quite soon found out that merging Debian and upstream init scripts and also shipping upstream systemd unit files in Debian is not a trivial thing. The biggest missing link is that it would need a group of actual users to join in and help testing changes. Ian is not using systemd at all, and for me, this issue hasn't reached the top of my TODO list at all in the last months, since I've spent most of my time hunting down other bugs (like live migration things) that are blockers at work. This is also a reminder to users and reporters of bugs in this area: If you want to have things fixed, then please actively help to make it happen. Reality shows that it will not just magically happen. My email "Now is the time! Help testing Xen for Buster." has gotten exactly zero replies on the mailing list. That's ok, I'm familiar with the Warnock's dilemma, so I'm going for option 1: apparently everyone is happy and everything works. We'll try to cross off as many of the things on the todo list above in the next two weeks. Hans
