I re-added the block that was accidentally removed after cloning(!) #828286, and it appears that #812166 was previously a blocker[1]. On a side note, I have no idea why the BTS removed all blocking bugs on #827061 after cloning just one of them, and it turns out it did so on two occasions, my clone[2] and Adrian's one[3]. It could be possible that Xen fails to build due to incompatible changes in the openssl binary. The rebuild also included the linux package which passed (so it is possible that Xen passes, too).> On a side note, I have no idea why the BTS removed all blocking bugs on > #827061 after cloning just one of them, and it turns out it did so on > two occasions, my clone[2] and Adrian's one[3].The blocker are removed due to #820044.> Regards, > ApollonSebastian

I see that Xen does indeed Build-Depend on libssl-dev. However, none of the binary packages Depend on anything containing `ssl'. I think the libssl check in configure.ac and the corresponding libssl-dev build-dep is cruft. I'm investigating. So in fact I think, despite appearances, neither src:xen nor any of the binaries it generates is entangled with openssl. Anyway, #812166 was fixed upstream in 4.7.0 anyway, so is fixed in sid/stretch. I'm closing that bug with this message. Thanks, Ian.
