Hi Debian Qt-KDE team, I implemented partially an Apt backend for the Shaman package manager [1]. For now it just fetches data for presentation and installation proposal. Shaman is much nicer than KPackage, has a cleaner interface than Adept, both now unmaintained. An advantage Shaman has is that it is package management unaware. This functionality is implemented by plugins. I ask you to checkout [2] the source and try it. I have some doubts on how to implement repositories. I am thinking of getting the Origin key as present in the release file. Also, is any one familiar with PolicyKit? I can not get the helper to work on my Lenny system. And the KPackageKit interface makes little sense to me. Comments?
