wrt KDE 3.5.3 ... we have the question of merging kdelibs-bin into kdelibs4. recent discussions on debian-project have shown that some find that libs packages should not ship libraries, and we have the damn circular dependency bug. I''d be in favour of a merge, because the real reason behind the "do not merge" argument is a problem wrt multiarch, and I''m not sure KDE can work in a multiarch env sanely anyway (I doubt kdelibs4/i386 + kdelibs4/amd64 + kdelibs-bin/amd64 e.g. can work). my opinion is that we should go for the merge, because it''s unlikely that multiarch will happen for etch (or it will only be partial) and that it at least solves upgrade problems, even at the cost of a policy violation, but that the RM won''t enforce. what do others here think ? -- ?O?
