[Pkg-kde-talk] Request for PGP/MIME support w/o gpg-agent
Hello, On #debian-qt-kde the idea of adding our voice to those requesting full support for OpenPGP/MIME in KMail without gpg-agent was raised. I''ve written a basic draft of what such a post to KDE Bug #92619 might look like. For more background, see http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2005/01/msg00152.html. --- Debian is another distribution that will not be shipping GnuPG 1.9.x in our upcoming release, and as such does not have gpg-agent available. Our users thus lack full PGP support in KMail, without resorting to 3rd-party packages. For this reason, we would welcome a patch, usable with the 3.3 branch as well as HEAD, and ideally official but unofficial if necessary, that would allow KMail to decrypt OpenPGP/MIME messages even if gpg-agent is absent. Perhaps Gregorio Guidi''s patch can serve as a starting point. [Name(s), Debian/KDE Maintainers, something else...] --- It might be nice to post this using the official Debian/KDE account. It would look more impressive, anyway. Comments? Chris
