[Pkg-exim4-users] Change the Default Message Size Limit
I have exim4 set up and running on Ubuntu with clam and SpamAssassin. I need to change the default message size limit. As I read the documents all I need to do is Add MESSAGE_SIZE_LIMIT=<insert value> To /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf and restart exim4 It isn''t working . What did I miss? I have been trying to post this to the list but I don''t see it showing up. I getting errors saying the server can''t be located. -- Robert Steinmetz, AIA Principal Steinmetz & Associates

Is it necessary to both run update-exim4.conf and restart? I have been but some stuff I read implied it was unnecessary. Can anyone point me to a description of valid values for MESSAGE_SIZE_LIMIT ? All examples I found use xxM are other values (like "k" or "G") legal? Is there an absolute miximum value Is 0 still a valid value? -- Robert Steinmetz, AIA Principal Steinmetz & Associates

What did I miss? You need to add this to the actual exim configuration. This is described in README.Debian chapter 2.1.5 (at least, it is so in the current Debian package).> I have been trying to post this to the list but I don''t see it showing > up. I getting errors saying the server can''t be located. Please give the _actual_ error message to allow us to debug.
