[Pkg-exim4-users] Catch 22 with installing compiled Exim4
When I compile Exim from source, somewhere along the line exim4-daemon-light seems to get installed to meet the mail transport requirement. So when I install the custom Exim package with Domainkeys support, I get this error message. dpkg: regarding exim4-daemon-custom_4.63-17_i386.deb containing exim4-daemon-custom: exim4-daemon-custom conflicts with mail-transport-agent exim4-daemon-light provides mail-transport-agent and is installed. dpkg: error processing exim4-daemon-custom_4.63-17_i386.deb (--install): conflicting packages - not installing exim4-daemon-custom Errors were encountered while processing: exim4-daemon-custom_4.63-17_i386.deb If I do apt-get remove exim4-daemon-light then that installs exim4-daemon-heavy in it''s place. Then I can apt-get remove exim4-daemon-heavy and get things cleared out so I can then do dpkg -i exim4-daemon-custom_4.63-17_i386.deb Surely there has to be a better way, so if somebody wants to reply with some clues, I would appreciate it. Thanks mark

If somebody knows an easier way, I''ll be eager to hear ;) Greetings Marc -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc Haber | "I don''t trust Computers.
