Hi exim people Im wanting to find out somethings about exim and as Im a total newb'' I would appreciate someone helping me with my first problem ive encountered. Ok Ive discovered how to set a catch all account (urgh i know) : I create a smartuser director in /etc/exim/exim.conf with the directives: catchall: driver = smartuser new_address: webmaster@deltatraffic.co.uk & /etc/init.d/exim restart from here: http://ccfaq.valar.co.uk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=156 ok fine. now the thing I need to do is take a complex string as the alias so that only certain messages will get through matching the pattern. so for example: mytest*alex@deltatraffic.co.uk and * could be -167219382- or any string. currently trawling through the FAQS for an answer many thanks ! I would suggest updating to exim4, and reading spec.txt, chapter 3 and 6, and the exim FAQ. Further reading: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html And please, use a meaningful mail subject in the future. Thanks Martin. unfortunately I can only use exim at the moment so I was wondering if the exim MTA could handle my need rather than the courier MTA rgds Alex> > urgh indeed! > > man dot-courier > will show you the easy way :) >-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
