I''m configuring my newly installed sarge and I''m having trouble getting exim4 to rewrite the "from" and "return path" and "sender" fields on outgoing mail. I''ve read the README.Debian and the man page for update-exim4-config. I''ve been using "dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config" and it''s restarting the exim daemon when complete. My /etc/email addresses contains the one line: "loginname@myisp.net", my real email address. I''m a simple dialup user and my box has no FQDN. It does have a hostname "myhostname" and exim is using that for my system mailname in /etc/mailname. I think that''s how it should be because I have indicated my wish to rewrite later in this "dpkg-reconfigure exim4.config" script. /etc/email-addresses has my real email address on its only line. I am not preceding my "loginname@myisp.net with the word user:, should I? I would aprecate any comments or suggestions. -- mike ring Encrypt/Sign email: http://www.gnupg.org
