So an iPod made in the last 4 years has not even a dsp that's used for help in low-power playback of mp3? What are my best options for a portable player I can put opus on and have 10 hours of opus playback? Opus runs fine on most DSPs. That being said, many (most?) recent music players don't even have DSPs, they just do everything on the ARM chip.> What are my best options for a portable player I can > put opus on and have 10 hours of opus playback?Haven't tracked. Personally I'm using Rockbox. I believe the latest Rockbox release supports opus on most of its supported players. If not, the git version certainly does support opus. You may want to try it on one of the Sansa players. Rockbox also works on some ipods, but not all of them. Check out the compatibility list on rockbox.org for the latest and most supported players. Regarding vlc, all versions now play opus, not just the IOS version. You can now play opus on Android as well using vlc. Hope this helps. ~Kyle http://kyle.tk/ -- "Kyle? ... They get about 14h playing time on their internal batteries. The newer SanDisk Clip Zip is also supported by Rockbox and is actually a bit cheaper now, looking at current prices... -- Adam Sampson <ats at offog.org> <http://offog.org/>

Are you saying there's no difference how long opus can be decoded on this vs vorbis?
