I believe that when the LPK patch was previously discussed on the list
that the developers felt it to be too invasive. An alternative approach
has been discussed which you may find interesting.

Once the OpenSSH bugzilla is back up, you might want to take a look. The
idea is to provide support for an external command which can query a key
repository and return results formatted as if from an authorized_keys
file.
