Hi

is there a reason why the ClientAliveInterval is 0 (i.e. turned of)
by default?

In theory, it's not needed.  If an IP network works the way it's
supposed to then it's unnecessary.  In fact, it makes things worse: it
keeps demand-dial links active when they need not be, and causes idle
connections to abort during intermittent network problems when they
need not.
