Hello there, I am trying to use OpenSolaris as base for my project off cloud computing. Seems that snv_131 and 132 has some woes, and there is some more or less background sounds that s/Sun/Oracle/ will drop xVM. See bug : http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=13743 And also we have some report that libvirt interraction may be broken on snv_132 and event doesn''t work at all either in python or in C : libvir: QEMU error : remoteDomainProcessEvent: unmarshalling msg libvir: Remote error : unknown program (received 766d2d33, expected 20008086) Now I''d like to know if there is a real future on xVM and OpenSolaris? Can we use xVM really or this is a abandonned toy ? Thanks, Xavier
How do you get from a bug, that seems to be fixed, and to the concept that a complete project will be dropped? http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;jsessionid=d33215ded98ac0c2c45aa0d6b9e7?bug_id=6920580 What am I missing? If i am wrong about that, i believe JL or somebody else will correct me. --- On Thu, 2/11/10, Henry Pepper <henrypepr@gmail.com> wrote: From: Henry Pepper <henrypepr@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [xen-discuss] Xen/xVM and OpenSolaris future? He said that it is not compiled to do so, so it is something that should be possibly changed easily. We use this code even on a local machine. Having said that, I have no idea what this problem might be. regards john
